How to Set Up a Roleplay Discord Bot with PulseOne

PulseOne's Roleplay module runs the Discord side of a FiveM roleplay server: who gets in, who they play, who is on duty and what is happening this week. This guide sets each part up, all of it free.

What the Roleplay module covers

Applications

Members apply on a web page your staff review in the dashboard, for allowlist, departments or staff roles.

Characters

Members keep character profiles with name, age, faction, occupation and backstory.

Duty clock

Departments with clock-in, an optional required role, an on-duty role while clocked in, and a leaderboard.

Events and RSVPs

Scheduled and repeating events with reminders, a capacity and a waitlist.

1. Add PulseOne and turn on Roleplay

Go to one.pulsesystems.dev, sign in with Discord and add PulseOne to your server. In the dashboard, open Roleplay. The same bot also runs your tickets, moderation, welcome messages and more, so you don't need a separate bot for each job.

2. Applications

Build an application form in the dashboard, for example an allowlist form asking for age, experience and a character idea. Members fill it in on your server's application page, can save a draft, and can check the status of what they sent. Staff review and decide in the dashboard.

3. Characters

Members create profiles with /character create, giving a name, age, faction, occupation and backstory, and edit or retire them later. Members can look characters up with /character view, which saves staff answering "who is this?".

4. Departments and the duty clock

1

Create a department

Run /department create for each one (LSPD, BCSO, EMS). Optionally require a role to clock in, and give an on-duty role while someone is clocked in.

2

Post a clock panel

Use /clock panel in a department channel so members clock in and out with a button instead of a command.

3

Check who is on duty

/clock status shows active sessions, and /clock leaderboard ranks completed duty time, optionally for the last N days.

5. Events

Schedule events with /event create: a title, a start time, and optionally a repeat (every N days), a reminder posted before each one, and a capacity. Members answer with /event rsvp; once an event is full, new RSVPs join a waitlist.

  • Weekly department trainings that repeat on their own
  • Server-wide events with a reminder an hour before
  • Limited-seat events (heists, races) with a waitlist

Moving from PulseRP

PulseRP is being folded into PulseOne and shuts down on January 31, 2027. Add PulseOne to your server, open Imports in the dashboard, and bring your records across in a few clicks.
